The Boston Gear 82491 PDC05FBHP28 Pneumatic Overload Clutch is a 2-inch bore, air-activated disconnect clutch in the Centric PDC family, delivering true torque overload protection and automatic disengagement when air is removed. It supports a torque range of 300 to 4,000 in-lb, bi-directional operation, a ball detent design, single-position automatic detent, and is completely sealed with electroless nickel plated hardware. This model is suited for bottling and packaging lines, conveyors, and other power-transmission setups where overload protection and automatic disengagement are required, and engages via standard air pressure; it can be paired with limit switches to trip a drive on overload. The PDC series is described as a one-revolution, single-position reset device, with lubrication guidance recommending ISO viscosity grade 460 oil (two ounces, drained and refilled every 5,000 hours) and the Mobil SHC634 oil option (Boston part 51493).
