The Boston Scientific EKOS PT-3B Control Unit (PT3B-5902 DOM) is a component of the EKOS Endovascular System that delivers acoustic pulse thrombolysis, using ultrasound energy to enhance the penetration and effectiveness of a thrombolytic infusion through an EKOS catheter to dissolve clots. It represents an older PT-3B model, with the EKOS Control Unit 4.0 capable of running all EKOS devices previously operated by PT-3B. When ultrasound therapy is active, the front panel shows a yellow flashing light and the display presents flashing waves to indicate that ultrasound is being delivered.
