Broadcom SAS9305-16i Low Profile HBA Controller Card is a PCIe 3.0 x8 host bus adapter that provides sixteen internal 12Gb/s SAS/SATA ports in a compact low-profile form factor. It exposes those ports through four internal Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 connectors, enabling dense server/storage chassis connectivity. Designed for dense storage in servers and workstations, it supports up to 1,024 SATA or SAS end devices and delivers 12Gb/s SAS 3.0 performance. The PCIe 3.0 x8 interface operates at up to 8 GT/s per lane, with peak PCIe data bandwidth up to 8000 MB/s per direction. Power consumption is typically around 16.2 W, and it operates 0°C to 55°C with 5–90% non-condensing humidity. Brackets for low-profile and full-height form factors are supported, allowing use in compact servers as well as standard chassis. OS support includes Windows, Linux, Solaris, VMware, FreeBSD, CentOS, Canonical, Citrix, and other common enterprise environments. The SAS9305-16i is part of Broadcom’s SAS9305 family, which also includes 9305-24i and 9305-16e variants for different port configurations.
