Brocade BR-MLX-1GX20-U10G-X2 Expansion Module

The Brocade BR-MLX-1GX20-U10G-X2 expansion module adds 20 external 1 GbE ports to a Brocade MLX/MLXe router through the X2 expansion interface, delivering dense port capacity without replacing existing line cards. It is designed for high-density enterprise networks and data-center edge deployments where expanding 1 GbE access or uplink options is required, enabling scalable growth within campus, service-provider, or carrier-grade environments. The model includes an upgrade path to 10 GbE via a license (U10G), allowing a software-activated uplift to higher throughput on the X2 module to meet evolving bandwidth demands. As part of the Brocade MLX family (now marketed under Extreme Networks), this expansion module is used to extend the router’s port footprint while preserving existing topology and management practices.
