Brocade Communications Systems BR-6520-48-16G-R Fibre Channel Switch

The BR-6520-48-16G-R is a 48-port, 16 Gb/s Brocade Fibre Channel SAN switch designed for dense, scalable storage networks. Housed in a 2U rack-mountable chassis with two hot-swappable, redundant power supplies and port-side exhaust airflow, it supports scalable Brocade Fabric OS-based FC SAN fabrics. By default configured for 48 ports, the switch can be expanded to 72 or 96 ports in 24-port increments via Ports on Demand, enabling growth as storage needs rise. Each of its 16 Gb/s Fibre Channel ports uses SFP+ interfaces to deliver high-throughput, low-latency connectivity to fiber channel storage arrays and host adapters. The switch runs Fabric OS with features such as advanced zoning, dynamic fabric provisioning, dynamic path selection, NPIV, FSPF, in-flight encryption and compression, virtual fabrics, Adaptive Networking, and Server Application Optimization, helping optimize virtualization, VDI, and consolidated storage workloads. As part of the 6520 family, it is suited for core or edge roles in enterprise SANs, providing reliable performance for large data centers and storage-intensive applications, with on-demand scaling to 96 ports to accommodate future growth while preserving investment in Brocade technologies.
