Description:

RB‑90™ Reverse Buckling Rupture Disk from BS&B Safety Systems is a knife‑blade‑driven rupture disk designed for direct installation between companion flanges, with integral gaskets on both sides and a smooth process‑side seal that resists product buildup. In overpressure, the disk reverse‑buckles and ruptures along cross‑score lines, typically splitting into four petals for a controlled relief opening and non‑fragmentation behavior. It is rated for operation up to 90% of the stamped burst pressure (95% of the minimum burst pressure per EN ISO 4126), vacuum‑resistant, and suitable for gas services (and for liquids when there is a compressible gas or vapor pocket between the liquid and disk). The RB‑90 is designed for cycling service and is commonly used to isolate relief heads, with direct installation between ANSI/ISO flange assemblies and provided with integral gaskets; when used with BS&B safety heads (RB‑7R, RB‑7FF, RB‑7FS) it can be supplied as an ASME UD unit (model RCS) or CE‑marked for burst pressures of 0.5 bar and higher. Disk sizes span from 1" to 36" with stamped burst pressures typically 10–1800 psig (0.69–124.1 bar) and operating temperatures from −251°C to 538°C, with tolerances of 0%, 5%, or 10% and compatibility with gas or liquid service under appropriate conditions.
