Description:

The Bürkert Type 8031 paddle-wheel flow sensor is a compact inline low-flow sensor designed for aggressive or solids-free liquids. It uses a paddle wheel paired with a Hall-effect sensor to generate a flow-proportional frequency output, a signal that is PLC‑compatible for straightforward integration into control systems. This 3‑wire device employs a transistor output and is commonly paired with Bürkert Universal Transmitter Type 8025 for signal conditioning. With a G 1/4 process connection, it is intended for compact installations and inline installation in piping. Wetted parts can be chosen from ECTFE, sapphire, and coated stainless steel, with elastomer seals in FKM or EPDM to resist chemical attack, enabling use in demanding environments. The sensor is rated for operation up to about 80 °C and up to 10 bar, making it suitable for low‑flow applications where precise monitoring is required. The Type 8031 family covers several variants offering measuring ranges in the low tens to hundreds of liters per hour (for example, 10–100 L/h or 20–250 L/h, depending on the exact configuration and materials). Output is a frequency proportional to flow, allowing easy PLC or digital conversion for real‑time monitoring and control. In inline applications such as cooling circuits, dosing loops, or wash processes, this sensor provides a repeatable flow signal that helps optimize process performance and ensure accurate low‑flow measurement.
