Burndy BISR1-DB Direct Burial Inline Splice Reducer is a two-port UNITAP/MOLE inline connector designed for direct burial of aluminum and copper conductors sized 2 AWG to 1 AWG. It features an aluminum body with plastisol insulation and oxide inhibitor pre-installed to seal the contact area against moisture and contaminants as conductors pass through the sleeves, enabling a weather-tight splice in outdoor or wet locations. This inline entry multitap connector is UL Listed for Direct Burial and rated for 600 V and 90 °C service, suitable for underground feeder splices, service entrances, or other power-distribution applications. Installation requires 130 in-lb of torque and uses two 5/32 in Allen screws; strip length is 7/8 in for proper conductor exposure. Overall dimensions are 6.3 in long, 0.88 in wide, and 1.75 in high, with two ports, and it accepts a range of conductors within the 2–1 AWG span, reducing required inventory.
