The Burndy KC28B1 Servit Post mechanical grounding connector grounds one or two cables to steel structures, fence posts, and transformers, or taps one or two cables from a bus bar, with a single-wrench installation. Designed for 1 to 4/0 AWG conductors and mounting on a 5/8-inch diameter stud, KC28B1 uses a cast copper alloy body and measures about 1-3/4 inches tall with a base width of 1-1/4 inches and an overall body width of roughly 1.18 inches. The threaded stud is 5/8-11, the installation torque is specified at 660 in-lb, and the unit has an overall length of about 3.45 inches with a diameter near 1-1/2 inches, and it supports direct burial installations. As part of Burndy’s Servit Post family, KC28B1 is designed for ground connections and cable taps in outdoor or buried configurations, supporting 1 AWG stranded to 4/0 AWG solid conductors for compact, robust grounding in electrical systems.
