Cabletron Systems 9C300-1 Environmental Module

The Cabletron Systems 9C300-1 Environmental Module is a MMAC-Plus chassis component that provides system cooling, environmental/power monitoring, and out-of-band management for the SmartSwitch 9000 family. It houses a four‑fan cooling subsystem; any one fan can fail without compromising operation, and it offers front‑panel COM1 and COM2 ports for serial out‑of‑band access, plus a dedicated EPIM port for Cabletron EPIMs. It monitors external ambient temperature and humidity, features LANVIEW LEDs for diagnostics, and includes an ALARM indicator on the front panel. Physically, the module measures 12.7 cm high by 43.2 cm wide by 44.5 cm deep and weighs about 6.5 kg (14 lb), with shipping weight around 7.7 kg. EPIM support includes EPIM‑F1 and EPIM‑F2 multimode fiber options, expanding external connectivity via the EPIM port.
