It works with Cabletron's 90 Series by linking to an Ethernet or IEEE 802.3 controller via a compatible transceiver cable and accepts media taps chosen for the installation: ST-500-01 with a non‑intrusive Ethernet tap, ST-500-02 with an intrusive N‑Series Ethernet tap, or ST-500-03 with a BNC thin‑net tap (ST-500-00 is the body only). The LANVIEW LEDs—PWR, SQE, XMT, RCV, and CLN—provide at‑a‑glance status of power, heartbeat (SQE) test, transmit, receive, and collision presence to help diagnose physical‑layer issues.
