Carel EVD0000E21 Evolution universal RS485/Modbus driver module for CAREL EVD Evolution electronic expansion valves. This DIN-rail mounted unit drives bipolar stepper motors to position the valve and regulate refrigerant superheat, featuring a four-parameter assisted start-up procedure (refrigerant, valve mode, pressure probe type, and application) for quick commissioning. It includes a removable screw-terminal interface and an on-board graphic LCD with multilingual UI and online help, enabling configuration in SI or imperial units. Protective logic covers low superheat (LowSH) and high/low evaporating pressure protections, plus high condensate temperature protection for CO2 cascade or transcritical installations. Communication is via RS485/Modbus, and the product is sold in a multi-pack of ten units (EVD0000E21). Typical applications span chillers, air conditioners, and refrigeration equipment that use CAREL EVD Evolution valves, with capabilities such as bypassing hot gas, evaporator pressure control (EPR), or post-evaporator gas control in CO2 transcritical configurations as part of the valve-management strategy.
