Carlo Gavazzi PMT20RI Photoelectric Switch Through-Beam
Carlo Gavazzi PMT20RI Photoelectric Switch Through-Beam
Description:
The Carlo Gavazzi PMT20RI is a through-beam photoelectric receiver designed to detect beam interruptions up to 20,000 mm (20 m) using infrared light at 880 nm, typically paired with the PMT20I emitter for a complete sensing pair. It accepts a wide control-supply range of 10.8–264 V DC or 21.6–264 V AC and provides a SPDT relay output with normally open and normally closed contacts via screw-terminal connections. The unit supports light- or dark-switching sensing and offers adjustable sensitivity to suit varying beam strength, part reflectivity, and environmental conditions. Built in a plastic rectangular housing, the PMT20RI carries an IP67 rating for dust and water ingress protection, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. In operation as the receiver in a through-beam arrangement, it relies on a modulated infrared beam to minimize ambient-light interference, delivering reliable object-detection performance across factory conveyors, machinery gaps, and guarding applications. This model emphasizes long-range detection with a compact form factor, combining wide voltage compatibility, a robust enclosure, and a versatile output to support a range of automation tasks.
