Carlo Gavazzi VPO2EP Optical Proximity Switch

VP02EP is Carlo Gavazzi’s optical level sensor for liquid level detection in tanks, vessels, and piping. Featuring a polysulphone housing described as having high chemical resistance, the sensor is built to withstand demanding process environments. It operates from 10 to 40 V DC and provides a PNP normally open (NO) output via a 2 m PVC cable, enabling straightforward integration with standard PLCs and control circuits. The cylindrical, threaded-barrel construction simplifies mounting in fittings or tank walls, and its IP67 rating guards against dust and immersion in liquids. An infrared light source supports reliable interface detection, with a light/dark sensing mode that adapts to different liquid properties and operating conditions. The device tolerates ambient light levels from 0 to 100 lux, making it suitable for installations where ambient illumination varies. Ideal for level monitoring, VP02EP supports applications such as fill-level control, overflow prevention, and level-based process automation in chemical, water treatment, and industrial fluid handling environments.
