Description:

The Carr Lane Manufacturing BLS30-100 Clamp Ball Lock Shank is a Carr Lock® clamp component with a 30 mm shank diameter designed to drop into a receiver bushing in a fixture plate for repeatable alignment and clamping of flat workpieces. Part of the Carr Lock System, this ball-lock clamp relies on a precisely ground shank and must be used with a Carr Lock receiver bushing or liner in the top plate and a matching subplate bushing for proper operation. The CL-30-BLS-1.00 designation indicates a 30 mm shank, uses a 3/16" screw with a maximum torque of 12 ft-lbs, and provides a maximum hold-down force of 10,000 lbs, helping secure heavy workpieces without distorting thin plates. The clamp body is typically made from 4340 steel with heat treatment, the clamping balls from 440C stainless, and the screw from carbon steel with a black-oxide finish; an O-ring Viton seals the assembly, contributing to durability under repeated cycles. To achieve full clamping force, plate thickness should be within ±0.005". Balls engage the angled ID section of the Receiver Bushing, pulling the clamp downward to locate and hold the workpiece securely during machining.
