Chesterton 1725A Multi-Lon Mechanical Packaging

Chesterton 1725A Food Process Packing is a white, non-staining, expanded PTFE braided packing designed for food-processing pumps, agitators, and mixers. It uses virgin PTFE filament with a specially designed lubricant in an interbraid construction to maximize strength and minimize fluid wicking, delivering reliable seals in rotating equipment. The 6.4 mm (1/4 in) braid is packaged in approximately 2.27 lb lots per package. It meets USDA requirements for minimal food contact and FDA 21 CFR 178.3297, 177.2800, and 177.1550, with NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certification and ACS certification for drinking water. The packing tolerates temperatures from -29°C to 232°C (-20°F to 450°F) and supports shaft speeds up to 9 m/s (1800 fpm) with a maximum pressure of 22 bar g (325 psi). It is chemically compatible across a broad pH range (pH 0–14) and is intended for use in pumps, agitators, and mixers where sanitary, food-grade sealing is required.
