Chesterton 1730SC Silicone Core Packing

Chesterton 1730SC Silicone Core Packing is a rugged general-service packing that pairs a silicone rubber core with the heat-resistant fibers used in Chesterton’s 1730 packing. It withstands radial shaft motion and vibration and helps accommodate shaft/bore eccentricity in rotating equipment. Designed for agitators, mixers, blenders, washers, and pulpers, it supports shaft speeds up to 10 m/s (2000 fpm), pressures up to 28 bar g (400 psi), and temperatures up to 230°C (450°F), with chemical resistance from pH 2 to 12. Available in sizes from 9.5 mm (0.375 in) to 25.4 mm (1 in), this silicone-core packing combines a resilient silicone core with heat-resistant fibers, lubricants, and blocking agents to deliver reliable sealing performance in demanding service on pumps and other rotating equipment.
