Chesterton D720 Live-Load Disc Spring Assembly

Chesterton D720 Live-Load Disc Spring Assembly is a 5150-series live-loading packing assembly designed to maintain gland load on valve packing by a stack of disc springs housed in an outer-guide assembly. The disc-spring stack provides continuous gland load and, when deflected by service conditions, increases bolt travel to accommodate packing movement during thermal cycling and packing wear, reducing leakage. This configuration yields more stored packing load, longer packing life, and reduced maintenance in demanding service. It is used in valve packing applications across chemical processing, oil and gas, and power generation industries where reliable sealing under temperature fluctuations is critical. The D720 variant uses stainless-steel components and aligns with Chesterton’s 5150 live-load technology, offering high-temperature capability with service temperatures up to 1000°F, depending on installation and packing arrangement.
