Cisco NM-16ESW-PWR-1GIG EtherSwitch Network Module

The Cisco NM-16ESW-PWR-1GIG EtherSwitch Network Module adds 16 PoE-enabled 10/100 Fast Ethernet ports plus a Gigabit Ethernet uplink to compatible Cisco routers, delivering integrated switching and PoE power in a single module used in enterprise branch routers. It provides IEEE 802.3af PoE on all 16 ports, enabling direct connectivity of IP phones, wireless access points, and other powered devices while the built-in Layer 2 Ethernet switching handles local traffic within the router chassis. Managed through Cisco IOS software, this module installs in a network module slot on Cisco routers including 2811, 2821, 2851, 3825, 3845, 2901, 2911, and 2921; common replacements include NIM-ES2-8, EHWIC-D-8ESG-P, and HWIC-D-9ESW. The design targets enterprise branch networks that require consolidated switching and PoE capability without adding separate external switches.
