The Cisco NME-16ES-1G-P EtherSwitch Service Module is a network switching module that integrates Ethernet switching and PoE directly into Cisco Integrated Services Routers, enabling a compact branch-network LAN where a router also supplies power to connected devices. It provides 16 × 10/100 Fast Ethernet PoE ports and a single Gigabit Ethernet uplink, delivering up to 100 Mbps per Fast Ethernet port for connected IP phones, wireless access points, and other PoE-enabled devices. The module uses IEEE 802.3af PoE and operates as an Integrated Layer 2 Ethernet switch within the router chassis. It fits in the Network Module Enhanced (NME) form factor and is compatible with Cisco ISR platforms 2811, 2821, 2851, and 3825, installing in an internal router service module slot to expand LAN switching and PoE capabilities without external switches.
