Cisco WS-X6196-21AF is a 96-port 10/100BASE-T RJ-21 Classic Interface Module for the Catalyst 6500 Series, shipped with a PoE daughter card pre-installed. It provides 96 ports of 10/100 Ethernet and, with the included WS-F6K-FE48X2-AF= PoE daughter card, delivers IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet to connected devices, enabling power to IP phones and other PoE-enabled endpoints. The module is designed for Catalyst 6500 chassis in a line-card slot, and with PoE can support up to 96 Class 2 (7 W) devices or 62 Class 3 (15.4 W) devices, depending on the power budget. Use cases include deployments that require many 10/100 PoE endpoints such as IP phones in a Catalyst 6500 network.
