Dell PowerEdge M520 Barebones Blade Server Module
Dell PowerEdge M520 Barebones Blade Server Module
Description:
The Dell PowerEdge M520 barebones blade server module is a half-height blade designed for Dell PowerEdge M1000e enclosures, delivering scalable compute density in data centers where virtualization and multi-tenant workloads run inside blade chassis. This barebones unit ships with the motherboard but requires server processors and memory to be installed; it supports Intel Xeon E5-2400 and E5-2400 v2 series processors and DDR3 ECC Registered memory across up to 12 DIMM slots. Storage options are 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives (configuration dependent), with optional PERC RAID controller support, networking via integrated NICs through the blade chassis backplane, and power supplied through the blade chassis backplane. Dell's iDRAC7 with Lifecycle Controller provides remote management, and the module is compatible with Dell PowerEdge M1000e enclosures for high-density virtualization, cloud infrastructure, database hosting, and application server deployments. Common applications include cloud infrastructure, database hosting, application servers, and virtual desktop environments within high-density Dell blade deployments.
