Emerson Electric Co.'s Appleton CESD3034 Explosionproof Pin and Sleeve Receptacle is a factory-sealed, 30 A, 125–250 VAC, 4P3W receptacle designed for hazardous locations and for stationary or portable equipment operating in environments with ignitable vapors or gases. The device uses a 3/4 in hub and copper-free aluminum housing with brass contacts and beryllium copper wire springs, delivering consistent contact pressure across the full surface; a neoprene bushing helps prevent water intrusion, and a spring-loaded door keeps dust out when the plug is removed. The CESD3034 features Style 2 grounding (shell plus extra pole) and mates with Appleton CPH plugs in the Powertite family, with a 4 HP rating at 125/250 VAC and a 1 HP rating at 480 VAC. This unit is UL Listed and CSA Certified for use in Class I, Division 1 and 2 locations (Groups C and D); UL listing is provided only when the receptacle is installed with an appropriate mounting box.
