The Hewlett Packard Enterprise 717869-001 Chassis is a 2U rack-mount Large Form Factor (LFF) disk enclosure designed for the HPE MSA 2040 storage system, supporting up to 12 3.5-inch drives in the chassis and scalable to as many as 96 LFF drives with expansion enclosures. It offers versatile connectivity (8/16 Gb Fibre Channel, 1/10 GbE iSCSI, and 6/12 Gb SAS via controllers), up to 6 GB of cache per controller, dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies, and ENERGY STAR certification, enabling reliable, power-efficient operation in data centers. Compatible drive options include SSD, Enterprise SAS, Midline SAS, and Self-Encrypting Drives; supports RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50; expansion support for up to 7 additional disk enclosures; maximums of 64 hosts (v2 UI) or 512 (v3 UI), 512 LUNs, and 140 TB maximum LUN size, with management through a web-based interface that includes snapshot and replication features.
