The Hewlett Packard Enterprise 717869-001 Storage Controller is the dual-controller module for the HPE MSA 2040 ES SAN storage array, delivering high-availability, scalable shared storage for servers and applications. In a 2U rack-mount enclosure, it supports up to 24 x 2.5" SFF drives, with dual redundant RAID controllers and up to 8 GB of cache. Interface options include Fibre Channel (8/16 Gb), iSCSI (1/10 GbE), and SAS, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, and 50, with a maximum capacity up to roughly 43 TB depending on drive selection and data performance up to about 200,000 IOPS; power is provided by dual hot-plug redundant supplies. It features integrated web-based management, supports expansion with additional disk enclosures and mixed SSD/HDD configurations, and includes capabilities such as snapshot, replication, and automated tiering.
