The HPE EH957B LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS tape drive delivers 1.5 TB of native storage (up to 3.0 TB with 2:1 compression) for scalable, cost-efficient long-term backups and archival data. Built on LTO-5 Ultrium technology, it uses a SAS-2 interface at 6 Gb/s with a native transfer rate of 140 MB/s (280 MB/s compressed) and a 256 MB buffer, complemented by AES-256 hardware encryption for data protection. The drive adopts a 5.25-inch half-height form factor and supports LTO-4 and LTO-5 media, with connectivity available via external SAS (SFF-8088) or internal SAS depending on the model. It operates on 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz and tolerates ~10°C to 40°C, with an MTBF of about 250,000 hours.
