IFM Electronic IFS304 Inductive Proximity Sensor

The IFM IFS304 inductive proximity sensor detects metal targets without physical contact at a 4 mm sensing distance, making it ideal for reliable metal detection in automation systems. It provides a PNP, normally open output and operates on 10–30 VDC with a maximum output current of 100 mA and a switching frequency of 2000 Hz. The sensor features a stainless steel (316L) M12 × 1 threaded housing, 60 mm in length, and uses an M12 connector for easy cabling, with IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68, and IP69K protection and an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C. It is commonly installed in conveyor systems, machine tools, packaging equipment, refrigerated warehouse systems, and other material handling applications requiring non-contact metal detection and position sensing. Common replacements include IFM IFS204, IFS205, and IFS306.
