Description:

The Airpot 2KS160B3.0TX Precision Air Dashpot is a compact, low-friction damping device in Airpot's 2KS160 family, designed to provide precise, configurable resistance to linear motion in automation and instrumentation. It features a 0.627 in bore (15.93 mm) and a 3.0 in full stroke, with a TX rod configuration that supports misalignment tolerance in rigid mounts. Damping is adjustable across a broad range, with pull damping up to 4 lbf and push damping up to 3 lbf, while the damping coefficient can be set from 0 to 10 lbf-s/in for stock configurations and up to 5 lbf-s/in in certain custom variants. The dashpot operates over -55°C to +70°C in standard form, with extended service up to +150°C in custom builds. It uses a graphite piston inside a borosilicate glass cylinder for ultra-low friction and repeatable performance. Mounting options include rectangular mounting holes (.312" x.375" / 8 mm x 10 mm) or round holes (.375" / 10 mm), and stock stroke options of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 3.0 inches; full travel is achieved with mounting tolerances within ±0.015" (0.38 mm). Typical applications include damping and energy dissipation for solenoids, valves, optical stages, and motion platforms where controlled deceleration and resonance suppression are critical without introducing mechanical friction.
