Industrial Browning Torq/Gard Overload Clutch Spring, part numbers 3005055 and A1668201, is a replacement component used in Browning's Torq/Gard overload clutch assemblies to enable their torque-limiting function. In a Torq/Gard clutch, a spring-loaded cam follower seated in a hub cam detent keeps the hub and clutch body rotating together, and when the preset torque is exceeded the follower releases, disconnecting the hub from the body; the unit then resets when jogged to clear the overload. Torq/Gard overload clutches are designed for low-speed drive protection on the driving side of speed reducers, with torque protection up to 8000 in-lbs and operating speeds from roughly 350 to 900 rpm.
