Industrial AFC1200 Main System Axis Controller

FEC's AFC1200 Industrial Main System Axis Controller is a modular motion-control platform that coordinates up to 24 spindles from a single ISA Main Controller Unit. It supports up to 24 Axis Controller Units, communicating between the main unit and each axis unit via a dedicated MA/AA ribbon cable that forms the system-wide control bus. Each Axis Controller Unit connects to spindle hardware through three homerun cables for motor, encoder, and sensor/preamp signals, enabling synchronized multi-axis operation across a distributed spindle network. On power-up, the main controller performs a POST to verify system integrity, and the AFC User Console software provides configuration, programming, and monitoring in supported configurations, with a VGA CRT display (or optional LCD) and keypad interface for real-time status and adjustments. The architecture is designed for multi-spindle manufacturing environments that require centralized control, scalability, and a clear separation between the ISA-based Main Controller Unit and multiple Axis Controller Units.
