Industrial AIM-16-M-P Analog Input Multiplexor Signal Conditioner
Industrial AIM-16-M-P Analog Input Multiplexor Signal Conditioner
Description:
Industrial AIM-16-M-P Analog Input Multiplexor Signal Conditioner from ACCES I/O Products is an external 16-channel analog input interface that accepts, preamplifies, and multiplexes up to 16 signals prior to conversion by an A/D in a host computer. The unit provides screw-terminal terminations and comprehensive input signal conditioning for a range of sensors, including thermocouples (types J, K, T, E, S, R, B), three‑wire RTDs (392 and 385‑alpha), and strain gauges; for strain gauges, it can deliver +10 V excitation at up to 220 mA via the REF OUT terminal through the associated AD12-8 converter. The AIM-16-M-P supports selectable gain and filtering as part of its conditioning, with channel gains configurable through on-board options, enabling precise scaling of each input before multiplexing to the ADC. Installed external to the computer, the multiplexer routes electronically selected channels to the ADC input in an I/O card, typically in a PC/XT/AT‑class host, while preserving signal integrity with conditioning prior to digitization. If Option P is installed, the AIM-16-M-P can be powered from the host computer’s +5 V supply rather than requiring an external power source. This combination makes the AIM-16 family suitable for industrial sensor networks that use thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, and DC voltage/current inputs, delivering conditioned signals through a single ADC channel for streamlined data acquisition.
