Industrial API-7580-G DC Isolated Frequency Transmitter
Industrial API-7580-G DC Isolated Frequency Transmitter
Description:
The API 7580 G Frequency to DC Isolated Transmitter from Absolute Process Instruments is a field-configurable signal conditioner that converts a frequency input into a proportional, galvanically isolated DC output for industrial automation and process control systems. It accepts a frequency input range of 0–100 Hz up to 0–30 kHz and provides flexible DC outputs that can be configured per installation: unipolar or bipolar voltage outputs from 0–1 VDC to 0–10 VDC or ±1 VDC to ±10 VDC, and a current output with 20 V compliance ranging from 0–1 mA to 0–20 mA. The device is designed for full isolation, delivering 2000 Vrms of input/output/power isolation to minimize ground loops and noise interference. Setup is field-driven via external rotary and slide switches, with common ranges pre-set on the module label and the option for additional ranges by consulting the factory. The unit ships with an 18 VDC power supply to power the sensor input, if required, and supports a broad range of input/output configurations, including 30 selectable inputs and 16 selectable outputs. It features visual indicators such as Input and Output Looptracker LEDs and a functional test pushbutton to aid diagnostics, and it can be configured for power options appropriate to 115 VAC or 230 VAC installations. Typical applications include converting frequency signals from rotary encoders, magnetic pickups, proximity sensors, or flow meters to a stable DC signal for PLCs, counters, or analog control loops, and even re-encoding PLC pulse rates into analog outputs for motor speed or line pace monitoring. The API 7580 G is designed for rugged industrial environments and is manufactured in the USA.
