Description:

Industrial B4-6 Photoelectric Amplifier Logic Module from Banner Engineering is an ac-coupled pulse amplifier that plugs into Banner’s MRB control chassis via a standard octal base, designed to translate tiny signal changes from modulated photoelectric receivers into a clean, timed output. It is powered from 12–18 V (DC or 12 V AC) and is commonly used with Banner SM53E/SM53R sensors to generate a one-shot pulse that can drive a load or relay, with the output timing selectable as a 1 millisecond pulse for the B4-6 model. The B4-6 features an inhibit input on pin 3 (grounding pin 3 inhibits operation) and uses the negative power rail tied to the housing for grounding; the housing itself is an anodized aluminum enclosure measuring about 3.8 in. long, 2.0 in. wide, and 2.0 in. high, and it mounts in the MRB chassis to control an output device. The module is designed to operate with very small signal changes from compatible Banner receivers, converting them into conditioned outputs suitable for process control, relay switching, or other switching devices, with the B4-6L variant offering an AC-latch timing option for alternative timing behavior.
