The Altronic DSM-4689DUS Universal Setpoint Monitor is an eight-point analog-input, microprocessor-based instrument designed to monitor critical process variables represented by voltage signals—typical uses include pressures, temperatures, and speed—with tachometer, overspeed, and run-time hourmeter functions and a power requirement of 12–30 VDC (typical 10 W). Each channel provides high and low setpoints and an individual setpoint pair, a solid-state Form C output for machine protection, and inputs that accept 0–5 V, 1–5 V, or 0.5–4.5 V signals; Modbus RTU (RS-485) communications are standard, and the front panel features a sealed membrane keypad with a rugged gasketed anodized aluminum enclosure suitable for demanding environments such as oilfields. The DSM-4689DUS also displays fault information in order of occurrence on the display and via the serial port, supports connection to a negative-ground ignition system for tachometer/overspeed/hourmeter, and is certified Class I, Division 1 & 2, Group D hazardous locations; it replaces the DSM-4688DUS as the current model.
