Industrial FX-101P Fiber Optic Sensor Amplifier

The FX-101P is Panasonic Industrial Automation’s SunX digital fiber-optic amplifier that turns a fiber sensor into a clean PNP open-collector switch output. Powered from 12 to 24 V DC (±10%), it draws about 30 mA at 24 V and consumes roughly 0.72 W in normal operation with ripple limited to 10% or less, making it suitable for compact automation panels. This DIN-rail mountable module accepts standard 2.2 mm diameter fiber cables (SunX/panasonic fibers or other compatible 2.2 mm fibers) and provides a red LED status indicator for quick diagnostics. A pre-attached CN-14A-C2 cable is included with the amplifier, and a variant FX-101P-CC2 adds a 2 m attached cable for direct connections to controllers. The unit supports push-button or remote input teach and offers programmable features such as time delay, enabling tailored sensing behavior for applications like packaging lines or material handling where a digital signaling output is required. Operating temperature spans -10 °C to 55 °C, aligning with typical industrial environments.
