Industrial KAS-80-23-A Sensor

The RECHNER Industrie-Elektronik KAS-80-23-A capacitive sensor is a non-flush, 20 mm (D20) housing device designed for contactless detection of dielectric materials such as plastics, rubber, and wood in industrial environments. It operates from 10 to 35 V DC and provides a 4-wire DC interface with selectable NPN or PNP outputs, supporting up to 2 × 250 mA of load current, a maximum voltage drop of 2.0 V, and a no-load current around 15 mA. The sensing distance is adjustable from 0.5 to 20 mm, enabling stable detection across material variations, and the enclosure carries an IP67 rating with housing and active surface made from PA/PPO, paired to a 2 m PVC cable with four 0.34 mm² conductors. Variants exist, including M22 and PTFE versions, with some models offering elevated temperature ratings (up to 100°C) for tougher applications, while the base KAS-80-23-A remains a robust, non-flush-mount sensor suited for automation, packaging, and material-presence sensing on production lines.
