Bo-Sherrel M-1AR Short Haul Modem is a rugged industrial device that provides asynchronous RS-232 (CCITT V.24) communication in full duplex up to 19,200 baud, using a single twisted pair for simplex or two twisted pairs for duplex, with a 10 mA current-loop option. It operates from 115 VAC or 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz, drawing about 0.1 A, and fits in a compact enclosure measuring 80 × 150 × 50 mm (3.2 × 6 × 2 in) and weighing roughly 0.5 kg. Features include DTE/DCE switchability, four screw terminals or a modular phone plug interface, and optical isolation with a 2 kV test voltage; LED indicators (PWR, RD, TD) provide at-a-glance status. With an operating range of 5°C to 50°C and up to 95% RH non-condensing, it is designed for local links between computers, displays, printers, and other RS-232 devices in industrial environments requiring reliable short-haul serial communication.
