The SG-DRL-2 Central Receiving Unit from Sur-Gard is a two-line digital receiver designed for professional central-station monitoring, pairing with a CPM2 central processing module and DRL2A line cards to collect alarm transmissions from on-site panels and route them to a computer, printer, or automation software. Powered by the CPM2, the system features a built-in keypad and LCD display for local status, a parallel printer port, and two RS-232 serial ports, plus a nonvolatile event memory buffer so alarms and events can be logged and transmitted even if the primary link is temporarily offline. The DRL-2 family decodes a broad range of Sur-Gard formats, including DTMF variants (Express and High-Speed), as well as standard formats like Contact ID and BFSK, enabling flexible integration with Sur-Gard-compatible panels and central-station software. The architecture relies on modular DRL2A line cards to monitor telephone lines and feed events to the CPM2, allowing field upgrades and expansion while keeping core processing centralized.
