Industrial SMA31E Mini-Beam Photoelectric Sensor

The SMA31E Mini-Beam Emitter from Banner Engineering is the opposed-mode emitter half of the self-contained Mini-Beam AC Voltage Series, designed to pair with the SM2A31R receiver for a through-beam photoelectric sensor with a 3 m (10 ft) range. It emits an infrared beam at 880 nm and operates on 24 to 240 VAC, while the receiver provides the switching output; the emitter itself has no external output. The rugged, epoxy-encapsulated 18 mm barrel-style housing is rated IP67 and meets multiple NEMA standards (1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 12, 13), making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. Typical installations support 2 m pre-wired cables or longer 9 m (30 ft) variants, with QD options via the QDP suffix to simplify connections; Banner also offers compatible Mini-Beam configurations for extended ranges and applications such as object detection, part verification, and conveyor sensing in dusty or moist environments.
