Black Box SP340A-R3 Opto-Isolator is an RS-232 isolation module with DB25 male to DB25 female connectors, designed to block ground loops by transmitting signals across an internal fiber-optic link. It supports 115.2 kbps serial data and provides ground isolation up to 2,500 volts, enabling safe operation when devices are powered from separate AC sources. The serial link can span up to 1,000 feet (304.8 m) on either side of the isolation barrier. Power is interface-powered, with an optional PS1002 120-VAC wall-mount power supply available if the interface cannot provide sufficient power.
