Leroy-Somer R230 Automatic Voltage Regulator AVR

The Leroy-Somer R230 Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) is a panel-mounted control that maintains stable generator output by regulating the exciter field current in brushless alternators. It accepts 85–139 VAC at 50/60 Hz, provides up to 90 VDC excitation output with 6 A continuous (10 A for 10 seconds) and a 500 ms response time for ±20% voltage variation, and supports remote voltage adjustment of ±5% via an external potentiometer in a shunt-excitation configuration. Used in diesel and gas generator sets—from standby to mobile power units—it includes adjustable underspeed protection, an 8 A slow-blow fuse, operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, is panel-mounted, and is an active replacement component available through OEM and aftermarket suppliers; common replacements include Leroy Somer R250 and AEM110RE014.
