NXP Semiconductors PCF8584P I2C Bus Controller

The NXP PCF8584P Power Supply Controller Board is a parallel-to-I²C bus controller that lets a parallel-bus microcontroller communicate with I²C devices in industrial automation and embedded control systems. Built around the NXP/Philips PCF8584P, it supports both master and slave operation and serves as a bridge between a parallel bus and the I²C world for sensors, memory devices, and peripheral equipment. The board is a 20-pin DIP, chassis-mount Printed Circuit Board Assembly designed for 4.5–5.5 VDC supply with a typical current of 1.5 mA, and it operates from -40°C to +85°C. It’s commonly used as a replacement or expansion controller in industrial automation equipment, embedded control platforms, instrumentation systems, and legacy OEM machinery where reliable serial communication is required, and it is compatible with common replacements such as NXP PCA9564, PCA9665, and PCA9663.
