Panasonic EX-22B Ultra-Compact Photoelectric Sensor
Panasonic EX-22B Ultra-Compact Photoelectric Sensor
Description:
Panasonic EX-22B Ultra-Compact Photoelectric Sensor, part of the EX-20 Ver.2 family, is an amplifier-built, diffuse-reflective (side-on) photoelectric sensor designed to fit tight spaces. It detects opaque, translucent, or transparent objects across a sensing range of 5 to 160 mm (tested with 200 × 200 mm white non-glossy paper) and uses a 680 nm red emitter. The unit provides a DC 12–24 V supply (±10%, ripple ≤10%), with a single NPN open-collector output capable of sinking up to 50 mA at 30 V max, and includes short-circuit protection. Its response time is 0.5 ms or faster, and status is shown via an orange output indicator LED (ON) and a green stability LED. The sensitivity is continuously adjustable, and the housing carries IP67 protection, with a wide operating temperature range of −25 to +55 °C and 35–85% RH. A 2 m, 3-core cabtyre cable is standard, with extension possible up to a total of 50 m using thicker cabling, and the unit weighs about 20 g (net) (45 g gross). Compliance includes CE (EMC and RoHS), UKCA, and UL Recognition. Typical applications include presence/absence detection of everyday packaging, conveyors, and machinery where space is at a premium.
