Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-UT2-EX1 Intrinsic Safety Barrier
Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-UT2-EX1 Intrinsic Safety Barrier
Description:
The Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-UT2-EX1 Intrinsic Safety Barrier is a 2-channel isolating barrier that provides galvanic isolation between hazardous and safe areas in industrial automation. It accepts universal input signals (current, voltage, or temperature) and outputs an isolated analog signal (such as 4–20 mA) on both channels, with isolation between input, output, and power supply to prevent ignition risks in hazardous environments. Powered from 20–30 VDC, this device is designed for DIN rail mounting in a slim ~12.5 mm wide housing and uses screw-terminal connections for wiring. It carries ATEX and IECEx hazardous area certifications and operates from -20°C to 60°C, making it suitable for demanding environments in process control, chemical plants, and oil and gas facilities where safe, reliable signal transmission is essential. Common applications include process automation, flow and level measurement, and temperature monitoring in hazardous environments, where safe signal interfacing and reliable system upgrades or replacements of faulty barriers are required.
