Red Lion Controls GCM422 GCM 42201 Converter Module

Red Lion Controls GCM42201 Serial Converter Module is a dedicated RS-422/20 mA current-loop interface that lets Red Lion devices with a 20 mA serial option communicate with RS-422 equipment, and it can be configured for RS-485 by repositioning an internal jumper. The module uses isolated 20 mA serial connections, supports up to 32 RS-422 receivers in parallel, and comes in a rugged, fully enclosed plastic housing with a 25-pin female D-type connector for RS-422 or RS-485. It requires an external power source of +9 to 26 VDC at up to 50 mA (Class 2 or SELV rated); a 680 Ω resistor is provided to source current for the serial loop, and the internal 6-position terminal block houses both the power and loop connections. Differential output voltages are up to ±5 VDC with no load, differential input voltages up to ±5 VDC, and a common-mode range from -7 VDC to +12 VDC; the RS-485 transmit-disable input on Pin 4 is active-low and is internally pulled up to +5 V through a 3.3 kΩ resistor. The GCM42201 model (also referenced as GCM422) uses data formats matching the host Red Lion product, and its compact dimensions are 0.99" high by 2.10" wide by 4.32" long, enabling installation in space-constrained control panels.
