RELIANCE 8370201 Dynamic Braking Unit DBU-5C is a 37 kW braking module in the Reliance Electric DBU family, designed to dissipate regenerative energy from a drive’s DC bus via braking resistors in a 415–460 VDC braking circuit. The DBU-5C corresponds to the DBU-50 size (837.02.01) and pairs with Reliance Electric inverters to improve stopping performance for high‑inertia loads. The unit supports an optional diagnostic card (DBU-50‑DIS, 837.02.02) for built‑in fault and status monitoring. For safe operation, the braking unit must be mounted in the vertical position, and ambient operating temperature is 0–40 °C with derating of about 1.5% per °C above 40 °C up to 55 °C.
