Rexnord ABTD0070 Pilot Plate Assembly Component
Rexnord ABTD0070 Pilot Plate Assembly Component
Description:
Rexnord ABTD0070 Pilot Plate Assembly Component is a Rexnord part used as the pilot seating surface in ABTD-series unitized flex element couplings. It interfaces with the hub flange pilots to align the flange, side plates, and center member during assembly. According to Rexnord installation procedures, pilots should be clean and burr-free, and bolts are run through hub flange holes with the axial spacing set by shims as needed. The unitized flex element side plates engage the flange pilot with a light interference fit, and seating force is applied to the engaging side plate using a brass drift pin. Once the side plate is seated in the flange pilot, all bolts must turn freely by hand; if they do not, jacking screws are used to release the pilot fit and the seating procedure is repeated. After seating, the bolts are backed out to flush with the face, the center member is installed with match marks aligned, and the pilot is seated using the bolts as guide pins. Locknuts are then installed and tightened per the installation instructions. This pilot plate arrangement supports proper alignment and axial spacing for the unitized flex element assembly, contributing to correct assembly and operation of Rexnord ABTD equipment.
