Schneider Electric 170LNT71000 Communication Adapter

The Schneider Electric 170LNT71000 DeviceNet communication adapter for Modicon Momentum I/O bases enables a Momentum controller to join a DeviceNet network. It plugs into the internal communication connector of a Momentum I/O base and serves as the DeviceNet interface, allowing Momentum I/O modules to exchange data with other DeviceNet devices on the network. The adapter supports standard DeviceNet baud rates of 125, 250, and 500 kbit/s, accommodates up to 64 nodes on the network, and uses a 5-pin male connector for twisted-pair wiring. Power is supplied from the Momentum base, with a 1–25 VDC input and a maximum draw of 110 mA (typical around 75 mA). It implements CRC-16 error checking, CSMA/CA network access, and supports master-slave and peer-to-peer configurations on a multi-drop trunk, with communication distances up to 500 meters depending on the data rate. The unit resides in the standard Momentum communication adapter enclosure and is designed for IP20 environments. It is ODVA DeviceNet compliant, reflecting adherence to the DeviceNet specification Release 2.0.
