Schneider Electric AS-B885-002 Module Controller

Schneider Electric's AS-B885-002 Module Controller, also known as the Modicon ASCII/BASIC Module, is a two-port serial communication and data-exchange module for Modicon 800-series PLCs. It connects to a PLC via OURBUS, provides 6 input registers and 6 output registers, and can run user-written BASIC programs independently of the controller's memory and scan, while performing READ/WRITE commands to serial devices on either port. The module supports two serial interfaces (RS-232C or RS-422) with selectable baud rates from 110 to 19200, enabling flexible communication with a range of peripherals. It occupies one slot in a standard chassis and weighs about 3 lb (1.4 kg), and includes a real-time clock/calendar for time-based operations.
