Schneider Electric BMEP581020 Processor Module

The Schneider Electric BMEP581020 is a standalone Modicon M580 processor module delivering 4 MB of program memory for distributed control in Modicon M580 automation systems. Classified as an M580 Processor Level 1 for DIOs, this CPU plugs into the M580 backplane and coordinates Ethernet communications across the rack network. It supports up to 61 Ethernet devices and four local IO racks, each rack offering up to 1,024 digital I/O and a total of 256 analog I/O, enabling scalable control of mixed digital and analog signals. The BMEP581020 is designed for use in applications requiring direct Ethernet connectivity and a modular approach to expanding I/O across multiple racks, such as production lines, packaging, and process monitoring, where reliable, deterministic processing and distributed I/O are essential. It also supports integration with BMENOC0321 network interface modules in the same rack (up to two BMENOC0321 per processor) to extend Ethernet connectivity as system needs grow.
